What will the Steering Committee Duties be?

Computers for Kids, Inc. (CFK) is looking to establish a Steering Committee in the Silicon Slopes. The Steering Committee partnership will consist of Business, Academic, City, and Community Partnerships.

Our goals for the Steering Committee focus will be as followed:

• Establish long-term partnerships with local companies in the Silicon Slopes area to donate tax-deductible surplus or overstock computer equipment to the Computers for Kids Program to benefit UTAH kids.

• Establish an "Area of Needs" list. Determine which segment of an area has the lowest Student to Computers ratio. 

• Help find internet providers to offer inexpensive WI-Fi rates for students.

• Marketing: Help to get the word out! Inform businesses and communities about the program. 

• Establish Fundraising Events like:

  • Community Donation Drives.

  • Golf Tournaments

  • Charity Auctions

  • Travel Raffle

  • 5K Walk/Run

  • Galas

  • In-House Competitions for Business

• Fundraising events will help fund:

  • Scholarship Fund  

  • Internet Fund
